The Kenya Copyright Board is mandated by the Copyright Act to enforce copyright and related rights in Kenya. The Board has a legal and compliance department that is staffed with lawyers and copyright inspectors.
The lawyers at KECOBO are highly specialized in copyright and related rights and Intellectual Property Rights in general.
The copyright inspectors are seconded from the National Police Service and are trained in investigation of infringement on copyright and related rights. Enforcement of copyright also involves training and awareness creation in collaboration with various government agencies such as the National Police Service, the Department of Weights and Measures, the Judiciary, the Anti-Counterfeit Agency as well as the rights holders.
To report a case of infringement of Copyright, you can visit our offices at NHIF building, 5th floor in Nairobi or write a formal complaint addressed to the Executive Director. Remember to include all details on the infringement and give you mobile phone contact for ease of follow up. The complaint should be emailed to info@copyright.go.ke.
