KENYA COPYRIGHT BOARD (KECOBO) REQUESTS FOR COMMENTS FROM MUSIC STAKEHOLDERS
The Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) is a State Corporation with the mandate of enforcing and administering Copyright and related rights matters. The Board also has the mandate of licensing and supervising the activities of Collective Management Organizations (CMOs).
Following the recent events in the collective management sector, KECOBO wishes to invite comments and proposals from music stakeholders on the management of the sector. The comments and proposals in the form of written memoranda are welcome from individuals, groups, associations or firms.
Submission of physical or soft copies of memoranda should address the following issues:
⦁ Proposals towards resumption of collections
⦁ Proposals on management and control of administrative costs
⦁ The future structure of music CMOs
⦁ Strengthening the role of members
⦁ Identification of genuine members of CMOs
⦁ Tariffs during transition
⦁ Any other matter related to the management of CMOs in Kenya.
The submissions should be sent to the Executive Director, Kenya Copyright Board (KECOBO) by email, post or they should be dropped at the KECOBO offices.
